The Inhumans Getting an Inhumane Critic Treatment

Hey, guys, I’m back in reviewing another superhero show. This show is Marvel’s Inhumans.

Well, I’m not discussing the show itself. I’m writing this post to discuss the criticism of the show. Or, should I say incorrect criticism. Let me state my case.

Inhumans Negative Criticism

So if you don’t know, Inhumans is part of Marvel’s comic series. We have seen parts of them on the show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D series. If you keep up with the series, some of the key members of the unit are Inhumans. The main one being Daisy. The last 2 seasons storylines evolved around the Inhumans.

Another tidbit of information, Inhumans were originally a movie. About a year ago, Marvel has shown us the release dates to multiple Marvel movies they had planned to do. One of them was the Inhumans. This is why their storyline in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D was so important. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is supposed to tie into Marvel movie. So, the past 2 seasons were a “taste” of what is to become the Inhumans movie.

Well, shortly after these dates were announced, Marvel canceled the movie. We have no information why they canceled it, just that they did. There were big supporters of the movie, so when they up and canceled it, it stunned the community.

Well, a little while after that, Marvel announces that Inhumans will become a TV show. In my eyes, I didn’t understand that. We already have a show dealing with the Inhumans. And the big question since this announcement was if Daisy would be part of that cast since she is an Inhuman. Well, it doesn’t look like it. She will still be part of the S.H.I.E.L.D.

Well, the first episode was announced. And Marvel announces that it will be put up on IMAX. And there’s where the problem lays….

When some TV episodes get put out early, as in this case with Marvel releasing Inhumans to IMAX before the TV, it will bring critics to the show. Not saying, critics, is this evil commodity. Not at all. This is where I have a love and hate relationship with “critics”. Professional or amateur.

Now, I’m just like everyone else. If I’m on the fence about a movie, I usually go to the go-to sites to see reviews. Sites like Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB. I like to go on their sites to see if this movie/show is good. And also go there to see the movies that I did like(If you were a fan of Batman V Superman, I wouldn’t go there >_>). So, take it from me, I’m not totally mad at critics.

But at times, they can sprout out nonsense.

And as a person who reads these reviews, you have to take them with a grain of salt. In some cases the professional critics get stuff right; and in other cases, they are totally off. This one is the “Totally off” case.

Once the critics saw the episode that Marvel put out to IMAX, they were brutal to it.

After watching the premiere episodes of Inhumans, I have to say….The episodes were not bad as I seen on so many other sites. Nowhere near as bad!

Now, I’m in no way saying the show didn’t have any problems. There were some parts in the show that were boring. No. I think some parts were slow at times. If they just deleted some parts of it, the story wouldn’t have been lost.

The show wasn’t bad. I liked the visual effects. We can’t expect movie style CGI for a Television network channel. You have saved money somehow. I’m not a bit of the mad spectrum about that. The only show that CGI seems completely off was The Last Ship.

The story is good! I’m liking how the base in the moon. It’s a “political” type of story that gets you hook.

And more then anything, the previews for the future episode looks to be good! Seems to be lots of action! And, I don’t know why so many people are angered by. This show is what we wanted Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D to be! People with powers on the show. We got our wish….Maybe not our wish on the main show, but it’s still something.

Furthermore, If this proves anything, is that we should listen to our gut. There are times when critics are right. Then there are times when they’re wrong. It’s up to us to figure out what’s right and what’s wrong. Also, it doesn’t hurt to watch more than 2-3 episodes to get a good take on it.

Which brings me to my last point: I can’t wait for future episodes of Inhumans!

Yes, the first two episodes of Inhumans were shaky. I expect that with new shows. But seeing how AoS had the same slow feel to it. Let’s not act like people weren’t calling for the cancellation of that show in the first 2 seasons. But, they soon got their act together and did better. And that’s what I think that this show will do.

Marvel’s other shows did the same. And they are well liked now.

The clips for future episodes look intriguing. Looks like enough action to out last the “boring”/”Slow” parts of the show! And, hey, it’s a Marvel show. Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt.

Conclusion

Overall, I liked Inhumans

There were some parts that were slow. I can’t deny that. But, overall it was good. As I stated above, future episodes looked to be good. And I would hate to quit the show just to see it’s doing great in the latter half of the season.

I’m hoping for the Inhumans show to be successful, because of Marvel’s track record. And hey, it’s a superhero show!

Did you think the critics were right?
